Nancy Telfer was born in Brampton, Ontario, and raised on a farm northwest of Toronto. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario, majoring in music education, theory and composition. She is a recipient of an Honorary Licentiate from Canadian National Conservatory of Music.
Ms. Telfer’s compositions include more than 400 works for soloists, chamber ensembles, orchestras, bands and choirs. Her compositions range from pieces for beginning students to works for virtuoso musicians and are often inspired by her interest in the outdoors. She currently resides in Coburg, Ontario.
