Kevin & Angelina Gibson

Angelina and Kevin Gibson are a husband-wife team residing in southwestern Ontario. They are passionate about music education that provides opportunities for students to be creative. The pedagogical series Invitations to Improvisation is based on their philosophy that improvisation is not only for some musicians, it is for everyone!

Angelina completed her Masters Degree in Music Education at Western University with a research focus on developing a curriculum for teaching improvisation on the piano. Her research, along with her interactions with students, served as a foundation for Invitations to Improvisation. Angelina loves teaching and is an active member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association. She holds an ARCT in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Kevin holds a Masters Degree in Music Composition and has written a variety of works for orchestra, chamber ensemble, choir, and piano. His most recent publications include Shapes and Meditations, two collections for solo piano. Kevin has an ARCT diploma in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music and continues to regularly perform as a soloist and collaborative pianist.

Angelina and Kevin run Gibson Music Studios, where they teach a full studio of piano and theory students and continue to pursue creative musical projects together.
