So much of learning to play the piano is solitary. It takes hours of careful practice time on our own to prepare a performance that sparkles. Playing duets and ensembles is an important part of a young musician’s journey. It adds musicality to the simplest tunes, and it teaches students to keep a steady tempo and listen to the other performer(s) as they create music together. And besides that, it’s a lot of fun!
This duet collection includes three arrangements of familiar folk tunes and two original compositions. These equal level duets feature simple rhythms with shared melodies. Watch for hand crossovers, shimmering harmonies, and even some body percussion.
I hope you will enjoy meeting a friend at the piano and playing these pieces together!
